Glenwood Country Club's New Era
The private club in Old Bridge is better than ever and remains the best value among private golf clubs in New Jersey.
Glenwood Country Club is entering a "new era," according to General Manager Sal Silvestrone. "We've created one of New Jersey's most rewarding and affordable private golf club experiences…a place that our members can be proud to call home."
The picturesque 18-hole championship golf course winds through a wooded area, with its many doglegs, hidden creeks, and water hazards. It was designed in 1964 by Hal Purdy, a prolific golf course architect responsible for more than 25 courses in New Jersey alone.
Add the extensive $2.3 million makeover of all 18-holes by New Jersey's own acclaimed golf course architect Stephen Kay, and you have a finely-manicured "shot-makers" golf course, which plays more than 7,000 yards from the back tees.
"We added back tees to make play longer for skilled players, then focused our attention on bunker placement," according to Kay. "The design changes have created more sparkle and variety to the holes. The result is a championship caliber course that is now even more fun to play with a diversity that will enable golfers to remember each hole."
"It's a hidden gem in a quiet and peaceful location."

In addition to the championship caliber course that is the perennial site for the New Jersey State Open Qualifier, Glenwood Country Club members also enjoy an expanded, first class practice facility that was part of the redesign by architect Kay. There's also a full service pro shop, clubhouse with men' and ladies' locker rooms, grill room and bar, and expert instruction available from head golf professional Sal Silvestrone.
With Glenwood's policy of no initiation fees, assessments or monthly minimums and a myriad of membership options for individuals, families and businesses, a first class private golf club experience has never been more affordable.
"We've believe we offer the best value in private golf in all of New Jersey," GM Sal Silvestrone added. "Most importantly, we've created a club our members can be proud to call home."
